Abstract

|
According to the abrupt increasement of internet user, there happened some problems in internet usage. Some pathological internet user showed problems in psychological, behavioral areas. They are called in ’internet addiction’. So Author tried to describe the concept of internet addiction in the realm of ’behavior addiction’, and diagnostic issues, symptoms and prevalences. Author also reviewed the study results about the association with the current psychiatric disorders, and psychopathology. Then author proposed the general evaluation processes and check points whom overuses internet and drawn into the cyberspace omitting things to do in real space. The therapeutic process of internet addiction started with awareness of problem himself at first, cognitive approach, pharmacotherapy when target symptoms existed. At last author proposed the responsibility and duty of mental health professionals to save the people who suffered from ’interent addiction’, research items regarding diagnostic validity issues, conceptual issues, therapeutic issues.
